The Westin Huntsville

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff on the 4th floor were kind and considerate while I was stuck waiting in the hallway. But our TV issue turned into a frustrating ordeal. It took three calls to the front desk before anyone came to look, and then we were told the TV couldn't be replaced and offered another room. We agreed to move, but couldn't get into it because manager Cam wasn't available to authorize access. I waited in the hall for around 45 minutes while my husband stayed downstairs. When Cam came back, he didn't acknowledge my husband for nearly ten minutes, and only responded after my husband made his frustration clearer. Some staff were wonderful, but the way the problem was handled and the lack of timely communication left us disappointed.

The bed was comfortable and we had a great stay in a good location, but a dinner charge at Sage Grille was apparently put on our room by someone else. The front desk said they'd removed it, yet several days later it was still on my credit card, so I had to dispute it myself. It took a while just to find a number for the Westin, and when I tried to reach them, nobody called me back. I'm disappointed they didn't resolve this and that someone could charge to our room so easily. Check your invoice before leaving and get any issues sorted out before you drive away.

This was our third visit this year, and this weekend's stay was disappointing. Even though we booked the same king room type, we ended up on floor 6 in a much smaller room than the ones on floors 2 or 3, and it had no couch. The shower was different too, with almost no water pressure. There was also a connecting door. It stayed closed, but we could hear everything happening next door, which surprised us.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the restaurant was very good. They even made custom dishes to suit what I liked, and the breakfast buffet was nice. There are great shops and restaurants nearby, with a pleasant area for walking. Our room was just okay for a Westin, where we're used to a very clean, high-end feel. The decor was nice, but the blankets looked worn, and there was rust and mildew on the shower door and floor.
