Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Huntsville

Breakfast was better than most, with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, plus the waffle machine. Staff were friendly, and check-in and checkout were easy as a rewards member. The room was very clean. The TV wouldn’t turn on, and I found it unplugged. Plugging it in didn’t fix it, so I looked up the remote and followed the universal remote setup. Then it worked fine. We’ll stay here again.

The outside-facing room doors made me unsure what to expect, since I’d never stayed at a hotel like that, but I had a great time. Staff were kind at check-in and breakfast, and my room was clean and fully stocked. The blackout curtains worked well, and the AC kept it cool. It’s right off the highway, across from Walmart, restaurants, and other places, which was handy when I needed something last minute. I’d book again.

I’d booked a non-smoking room, but when I arrived I learned there were no elevators and my room was upstairs. I said I couldn’t stay upstairs, and the nice woman found me a room downstairs. Unfortunately it was a smoking room, which I didn’t even know hotels still had. It was disgusting, and all my belongings smelled like smoke each day when I took them to my event. Being in that smoke-filled room triggered respiratory problems, so I was sick the whole time. They text to ask how things are going. I replied, but never got an answer.

The TV had a problem, but the kind staff came to help right away. Check-in and checkout were both handled by polite, friendly front desk staff, which you don’t see often. We had a great stay last weekend. We skipped breakfast, so I can’t say how it was, though I’d guess it was good.
