FairBridge Extended Stay – a Kitchenette Hotel

The desk clerk was friendly and the location was OK, but the room was awful. The sheets had pee stains, little blood spots, and black marks. There was a blood smear by the bathroom light switch, long black hairs near the drain, and I even saw a mouse run across the floor and slip under the hallway door. The toilet ran all night, and I woke up itching at 3 AM. I’d stayed up late after check-in, so I slept in my clothes and shoes on top of the bed covering before packing up to find somewhere else after my meetings. Getting to that room was rough too. There’s no elevator to the second floor, and I smelled cigarette smoke on the way up. The place is dirty and outdated, and I was honestly scared of what I’d find inside. Check-in itself was easy, though. From other reviews, it sounds like the same problems have been reported before, despite claims that they’d be fixed. The rooms deserve a negative rating. By far the worst place I’ve spent a night. Yuck.

Stay far away. The place is filthy and smells bad as soon as you walk in, and the employees are very rude. There are always bed bugs. The maintenance guy goes into people's rooms when they're out and without permission. I also have videos of staff entering my room and taking things without asking. The manager is really unprofessional, and the price seems to change every time a different person is at the desk.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel is in a safe-feeling area near other hotels, groceries, restaurants, and more. But the security and service were poor, and the promised amenities weren't there. The building's outside doors didn't lock, even at night. One of our two key cards didn't work, the room door stayed open instead of closing itself, and there was an exposed carpet tack right beside a bed. The hot tub wasn't secured, and no staff member enforced its closing time. Check-in took over 30 minutes, and the front desk agent came to our room twice. Staff at the desk were incompetent in the evening and morning, and the morning agent was unfriendly. They took my ID to make a copy and didn't return it until we went back to ask. We were also told the limit was two people for two queen beds, and that the building's water would be shut off at 8:30 am for a hot water heater replacement. There were no clean towels in the hot tub area. The pool was empty, and although the spa was advertised as open 24 hours, a sign said it closed at 10 pm. There was no continental breakfast. The kitchenette had an induction cooktop that needed special cookware, which wasn't supplied. No utensils, dishes, pots, pans, or soap were provided, and the only pan available was for purchase at the desk. The trash can was too small for even one dinner's rubbish, and the only place to eat was at a one-chair desk. It was basically a regular hotel room with a bigger fridge, and there was no river view.

There's no breakfast, though the hotel does have kitchenettes and a restaurant. Only the extended stay rooms are on the river. The rooms have queen beds and no blackout curtains. The bed was all right, but not pillow-top comfortable, and the pillows seemed smaller than standard. Our toilet chain kept catching, so the tank wouldn't fill properly.
