Hilton Garden Inn Idaho Falls

The river views are wonderful, and you can walk straight from the hotel to the Snake River. We’ve stayed here twice in the past year, loved both visits, and plan to return. The service is great, our rooms were bigger than we expected, and the pool feels nice and private.

The restaurant is what I adore most here. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, I’d encourage you to come for breakfast or dinner. The chef knows what he’s doing, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised more than once. I’m here about once a month for work and have been for over a year. It’s turned into an unexpected little getaway that I look forward to. The staff are always friendly, the rooms clean and in working order, the app’s digital key works every time, and the Wi-Fi is strong. I do always pay for the upgraded Wi-Fi. Even the little store is thoughtfully stocked. Thanks for making each visit such a good one!

The riverfront balcony and the Snake River Walk were the main reasons this stay was so good. The walk stretches for several miles, and it’s hard to pass up that view. There’s also a lovely riverfront patio, lit at night and nice for chatting or playing cards with your group if a balcony room is out of budget. The room felt airy and bright, and I appreciated having a reading chair and light since I don’t like reading in bed. The bed was a bit firm, though we prefer a little more cushioning as we get older. We didn’t use the bar or dining area. We chose this hotel as a splurge while passing through on a 14-day road trip. One employee at check-in seemed bothered when I asked a question after she’d asked me to wait a minute. The next day I heard her loudly telling another employee she didn’t like being interrupted during her lunch hour. I spent my whole working career in customer service, and that’s not the sort of attitude I’d want at a front desk. Management should speak with her about expected service and give her a warning. I’m not taking off a star for one unhappy employee, though; nobody else treated us that way. The coffee bar was a nice touch, but charging for a small bottle of water felt tacky when we were already paying a premium for the room. We’re not Diamond members, but we stay at Hilton hotels throughout the year, and that seemed like too much. If we pass through IF again, we’ll likely stay here for the view and river walk access.

Misty at the front desk made check-in feel welcoming and easy. She was professional and went out of her way to help, which made the stay even better. My room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, with a lovely view of the Snake River. The hotel’s location along the river also gives you easy access to the river walk and downtown.
