River Vista Vacation Homes

These cabins have become my favorite place in Oregon. I’ve lived here all my life and stayed everywhere from fancy resorts to basic motels, but nothing beats this stretch of river beside the cabins. They’re quaint and really comfortable, with no pretense of being fancy. We come for a week every summer, and after ten years it’s still the best part of the season. Most days are simple: river swims, reading, games on the deck, watching birds, then more time in the water and ice cream from the general store next door. Heaven. I’m grateful Randy shares these cabins with everyone.

We could see huge salmon hanging out in the swimming hole right from the patio. There’s also an easy walkway down to the Umpqua River for swimming or fishing. The homes are quiet, cozy, and overlook the river, making for a very peaceful getaway. The kitchen has what you need to cook, plus there’s a Roku TV and a BBQ grill on the porch. We’d definitely stay again.

The homes have lovely details and all the amenities I enjoy, and the setting and views are amazing. I’ve stayed in each condo and had a great experience every time, whether for poker night, a birthday gathering, or a couples’ getaway.

We’ve just come back from three amazing days with my wife and a few friends at this magical, majestic place. The weather was perfect, in the 90s, and we spent time beside and in the crisp, refreshing river, enjoying the gorgeous surroundings. We had no smoke. I’m sharing this because the owner, a very nice guy whose name I’m not sure he wants posted, told us many people had canceled over the Jack Fire. Fire deserves caution and respect, but it wasn’t heading toward River Vista Vacation Homes. It was moving the other way. The owner gets daily Battalion updates as crews regularly stop at the Ideyld Trading Post, and he’s keeping up with the situation and communicating openly about concerns and updates. After the financial hit from COVID, it’s been hard to see great small “Mom & Pop’s” places forced to close. It would be a real shame and loss if ongoing concern about the Jack Fire delivered another financial blow to this special spot. We want to return and will, as long as the community keeps supporting the business. You won’t regret coming. If you have a reservation, please keep it. Help keep this peaceful, fabulous place available for decades to come.
