The staff made everything go smoothly for my group of high school debaters, and Comfort Inn helped my team succeed. Everyone was friendly, professional, and accommodating, which made my job easier. Tyler, the night desk clerk, stood out so much that I pointed him out to my students as an example of someone extremely competent and friendly.

I was in a hurry and skipped breakfast, but they let me take some packaged items with me. The room was clean, and the staff were really nice, with personal suggestions for local food and things to do. My only reason for giving four stars is that the front door wasn’t working properly while we were there.

The pool was closed for maintenance, which was a bummer with kids and rain outside. Breakfast had decent choices, and the place was mostly clean, quiet, and comfortable. Most of the staff were terrific, kind, friendly, and helpful. Manager Tonya was the opposite of them, though, and wasn’t a nice person.

The breakfast was much better than at some other hotel chains. The scrambled eggs tasted like real eggs, and I’d give the biscuits and gravy an 8 out of 10, even if they weren’t quite restaurant quality. Check-in was quick, the lobby had free cold tea and lemon water, and my room was quiet and very clean. Comfort Suites was a very nice stay in Independence. It wasn’t the cheapest option in town, but the experience was hard to beat. I’ll stay again.

The front desk worker did his best with what he had, so this isn’t his fault. But the sheets and comforters were dirty, and when we asked for clean blankets, we got more dirty ones. This was easily the worst hotel room I’ve stayed in, and as a Choice Honors member, I don’t want to stay anywhere owned by Choice again.
