We chose this place because they had a smoking room, which you hardly see anymore. The blanket already had burn holes when we arrived, but I didn't complain since the room was cheap. After we left, though, they called and charged me $75 for that same burned blanket, which I didn't even get to keep. Be careful about booking the smoking room.

I stayed here and got accused of having all kinds of men over and burning blankets that were already burned. They lie about how many people were there and make these accusations without even calling first. You could stay in the room without being seen or doing anything, and they would still lie. This place should just close.

This motel is really old and poorly maintained. Even though my room was non-smoking, it smelled like smoke. Breakfast was barely continental, with stale cereal and watered-down coffee. The pool was gross and run down, just like the rest of the place. Don't believe the reviews calling it pleasant.

The staff made us feel welcome when we stayed overnight with our boat. This is the only hotel in Independence, KS where it was easy to charge the boat batteries from the room.

My dad and I got what we needed here: comfortable beds and a great shower. Check-in and check-out were both easy.
