Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center Kansas City

The decor was nice, the staff were really friendly and helpful, and the place was very clean. I’d absolutely stay again. I had a king room that was handicapped accessible and adequate for our needs, though it felt a little tight for getting around. Breakfast was good, with quite a few options.

The staff were friendly and the location was great, and the eggs at breakfast were quite good. The rest of the breakfast disappointed me: the pancakes and taters tasted awful, and the sausage was cold. We stayed two nights on the hardest beds and worst pillows we’ve ever had. Doors closing in the hallway made the sound echo and startle us awake, like our own door had opened and slammed. The jacuzzi was quite small, with green grime in the foam. A hoard of teenagers took over the pool, and the noise was deafening.

We told the front desk about the problems, and the woman apologized, but this was the main reason we booked the room and none of it made for a good experience. It wasn’t worth the money. The woman who checked us in was super nice; we just didn’t notice anything wrong until morning, otherwise we would have spoken with her then. The window between the two rooms didn’t work, and the tub kept draining while I tried to take a bath. Water also leaked from the handles. I usually love hotel breakfast, but cereal was the only thing I’d eat. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The kids loved the pool on a freezing night, and the family had a much better stay after we were upgraded to a larger room. Breakfast wasn’t great, but it did the job. It was a very clean, comfortable stay for our family of four.
