Ophelias Restaurant & Inn

It was my first time there, for a birthday and cocktail party, and I had a lovely time. The hors d’oeuvres were great, and the servers and attendants were prompt and helpful. One employee probably stopped me from falling on a step.

We had a wonderful family dinner, and even with the place busy, our reservation got us a cozy booth right away. Jade was so friendly serving us. The food was hot and delicious: two of us had the Bison meatloaf with smoked Gouda Mac and cheese, a huge portion with leftovers, and my short rib stroganoff was so tender it melted in your mouth. We shared the chocolate tasting, which was delicious and enough for three, maybe even four. The chocolate crème brûlée was heaven. Independence Square is decorated for Christmas and makes fun picture backdrops. Get a photo on the Christmas sofa in front of the theater.

We really like this restaurant and the food is always delicious, so I hope the service is better next time. Our waitress took our order and brought drinks, then disappeared for long stretches. We had to ask other servers for help and refills, and only got two check-ins from her after that, both following our requests to other staff. At the end, she disappeared again after we asked for the check and a to-go box, so another waiter helped us. There was just one other occupied table, and it wasn’t even hers. My eggs were a little undercooked, but they fixed them quickly and they still tasted amazing.

Soft lighting, live instrumental music, and an intimate atmosphere made for a lovely setting. The service was outstanding, and the creative food and drink menus were matched by excellent preparation. We enjoyed it very much. Ophelia’s is an excellent choice.
