Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront

Apart from a slight chemical or bleach smell in my room, I had a pleasant stay. The location was a big plus, and the breakfast was very good, though a little pricey. The other guests were well behaved and sociable. The staff were friendly, and Peyton the bartender knew her stuff. The pool area was nice if you didn’t want to go to the beach, and it had a tiki bar attached. I’d recommend the hotel if the price is right.

Update: This morning the air conditioning seemed to stop working, and now we have construction to deal with. So much for a peaceful vacation. I’m not sure I’ve ever had this kind of experience at a hotel chain that should be dependable. We checked in Saturday. The room was clean, but not what we expected. The balcony is barely big enough to stand on, so it’s not somewhere you can sit and enjoy; it might as well not be there. It was an accessible room, and I feel bad for anyone visiting in a wheelchair. It may be the smallest hotel bathroom I’ve seen. They said they’d move our things to another room Sunday and call or text when it was ready. We were busy all day but never heard from them. When we got back that evening, they found our new keys within a few minutes, then told us the power would be out for several hours Monday. Nobody had mentioned that at check-in. There are no microwaves in the rooms and just one set of towels per person. Come on. If we could find another hotel now, we’d probably switch, but I’d rather not spend more of the vacation packing and unpacking. We’ve stayed at less expensive places that were much more enjoyable and had kitchenettes or at least a microwave. I expected much more from the Hilton brand.

On my first day of summer vacation, the AC in my room wasn’t working. Chelsea helped quickly and was fast, professional, and very helpful. Will came up to work on it and was friendly and efficient. Later, Tanya served us at the bar and was positive and helpful with the menu. Amy had encouraged us to stay here and made sure everything was the very best for us. It was an amazing stay!

The room felt small, but it was comfortable and had a beautiful ocean view. We couldn’t find the sofa bed linens in the room, and it took about an hour for a housekeeper to bring them. Thankfully, the rest of the stay made up for that. Breakfast was delicious, and Melissa, who served me both mornings, was friendly and attentive. At the front desk, Chelsea, Kyle, and Nichole were very guest oriented, and Kyle kindly offered us late checkout. The staff all do their best to make guests feel welcome. The rooms are nice, and the location is hard to beat. I was very impressed and would definitely stay again.
