Candlewood Suites Indianapolis Downtown Medical District by IHG

The kitchen makes it easy to cook for yourself and make healthier choices, and the rooms are huge, with separate bedrooms. It feels more like a small apartment than a hotel, which is why I call it my Indianapolis apartment. I stay here every month for work and have for more than three years. I’ve never had a problem with the neighborhood or the apartments next door. It’s very clean, the beds are comfortable, and it’s super convenient to downtown, the hospitals, the zoo, White River promenade, and State Park. There’s a bike share station on White River Parkway about a half-mile walk away, which makes it easy to see the sights. I travel a lot for work, and this is by far my favorite place to stay.

Free parking, friendly staff, huge kitchen suites, and a family-friendly feel are why I keep coming back. I’ve stayed here for years and have never had an issue or felt unsafe. It’s just across the canal from downtown Indy, but without the downtown fees and high prices. The elevators are small and old, but they’re being replaced. I’ll take a cramped elevator over bad service or small, stinky, uncomfortable, unsafe rooms somewhere else any day. This is literally the only hotel I’ll stay at in downtown Indy.

I got a great deal on a room that turned out to be a huge king suite. Since it was just me, it felt like renting a whole apartment. The place was clean, and check-in and checkout were easy. I didn’t use any services or need help, so I can’t comment on that. For a short stay when you need to get downtown or to the hospitals, it’s a great spot.

The location makes it easy to get to the va medical center and the other medical facilities nearby. The rooms are spacious, with a kitchen area stocked with utensils, and they’re cleaner than I expected and feel very homey. The staff are always pleasant and welcoming. Great place to stay.
