Candlewood Suites Indianapolis Northwest by IHG

We stayed Feb 20-22, 2026. The room was clean and quiet, and the staff were friendly and greeted us throughout our stay. Check-in and checkout were pleasant.

I like the rooms, staff, and location here, but it’s no use if I can’t check out because there aren’t any luggage carts. Guests keep them in their rooms. The laundry room used to have a cart too, but one woman has apparently kept it in her room for weeks. Room 400 used a cart for groceries every day, then left it outside their room every time. I brought it back downstairs at least four times. Yesterday, I returned a cart that someone had left in the hall. Less than 30 minutes later, the same cart had been left in a parking space outside. Then the next person to take it from the proper place brought it into their room. Even with no carts available and at least two, maybe three trips to make, plus a full day of driving ahead, people keep asking if I’m checking out soon. Maybe I should just throw my things out the window. The hotel could keep the carts behind a locked door and ask guests to leave ID at the front desk and sign a ledger, like they do for the lending locker. Move the business center computers nobody needs anymore to the lobby and lock the carts there. Put up a big sign saying that guests who keep carts in their rooms long after using them will be charged, and do the same when the plastic laundry baskets disappear. Buy taller carts or modify the current ones so they can’t fit through room doors. Or use asset tracking tags like the ones from Anacove, whose website lists IHG as a current customer and sells products for this problem. While you’re at it, put signs in the laundry room telling people their clothes will be removed if they leave them there. If the hotel won’t deal with guests’ blatant inconsideration, what was the point of an expensive renovation?

The stay itself was okay, but Katie at the front desk had a horrible attitude and was very rude to us for no reason. Maybe she doesn’t like white women? It sure seemed that way. We were polite to her and didn’t deserve that treatment. We will NOT stay there again.

The daytime front desk clerk, “Kaitlyn,” was rude and bossy, and ruined my stay. She has absolutely NO customer service skills or training. Why make someone with such a horrible attitude the first person guests deal with? Maybe she has a horrible home life and is miserable, but she should leave her problems at home. They’ll apparently hire anyone for the front desk. Upper management, PLEASE find a different guest services employee. I will NOT come back if I’m treated that way.
