Clarion Pointe Indianapolis Northeast

Easy access to the main road, and the place was nice and clean. The rooms look like they've been remodeled recently. Breakfast is free, though pretty plain and short on options. Still, nice.

Ants were crawling over the box of donuts we'd bought for breakfast, as well as our luggage and the TV stand, when we woke up the next morning. The front desk seemed surprised when we reported it, but we later heard other guests on our floor had ants in their drinks too. It seems like an issue that hasn't been fixed. I have photos and submitted them with this review. We paid over $350 for two nights, expecting a comfortable, well-maintained stay, but it fell well short. On the first night we arrived around 1:00 AM, after calling ahead to say we'd be late. The AC was completely off, even though it had been over 90 degrees during the day. The room was sweltering and hard to breathe in. After we turned it on, it took nine hours to cool down to a comfortable temperature. When we told the front desk, the response was casual and unhelpful: “Oh sorry, our cleaning staff probably forgot. They don’t turn on the AC unless they know a guest is arriving.” That didn't make sense since we'd already called and confirmed our late arrival. The place looks nice on the surface, but at this price I expected basic hospitality and cleanliness. There were no laundry facilities, communication was limited, and nobody seemed to take real responsibility when problems came up. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but guests should know what they're getting into at these prices.

The breakfast is very scarce and not good. It's waffles, cereal, and microwave oatmeal, and McDonald's is preferable. Don't count on breakfast as a benefit here. I've stayed at this location a handful of times for work. Each visit the room has been clean and well kept, including the towels, beds, and sheets. When I travel a lot for work, good upkeep of the bed and linens is a big plus. Apart from breakfast, it's been a great place to sleep and rest before heading back to work.

The employees were nice, and the location is good. We got through the night without anything terrible happening, but for $250 a night I'd look elsewhere. The place seems more like a sketchy motel than the nice pictures suggest. Our room was next to the elevator, and the walls were so thin we could hear each person's sticky shoes sticking to the floor as they walked by. The TV only had channels even though it said it could stream. Breakfast was complimentary, but literally just waffles. Those little things add up when you're paying 200+ for one night.
