Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Northwest Indianapolis

The side entrance wouldn’t lock at night, which made us feel unsafe. After seeing how our room was kept, we didn’t trust the breakfast area to be clean enough to eat in. There was no coffee maker, the microwave tray was covered in cigarette burns, and the room itself was filthy, with sticky fingerprints, stained towels and bedding that smelled unwashed. The pool being closed was a major disappointment, especially since nothing about the closure was posted before we arrived. When I asked, the front desk agent called me a liar and insisted it was posted everywhere. I then had to tell my autistic child, who’d been so excited to swim, that the pool was closed. That was heartbreaking. They refused to give us any refund. The whole stay at this Wyndham property was unacceptable, and I wouldn’t recommend it or consider becoming a Wyndham owner. We were discovery owners ready to become full time after our spring vacation, but this changed our minds.

The room was very clean, but the whole building reeked of marijuana. The staff were condescending, and housekeeping was incredibly rude. Management only replaced the showerhead after I demanded they be allowed into the room. It had been spraying water everywhere. We booked because of the indoor pool and breakfast, then learned at check-in that the pool was closed for maintenance. The TV had only a few scrambled, static-filled channels. Breakfast was laughable, with mini pancakes and the weakest coffee I’ve ever had. Despite losing the pool, a usable shower, a real continental breakfast and cable, they offered neither a free night nor a refund.

The room was disgusting. I’m not sure I’ll be able to sleep. I went for clean covers, sheets and towels, but the attendant was rude and said we could only have towels, no blankets. The phone didn’t work, and I’m very disappointed in this place. We’re here only because it’s close to the hospital where my sister is having surgery. I’d have traveled farther if I’d known, and strongly recommend finding another hotel. We booked through Priceline and the total was supposed to be what the website showed. They also required a deposit. I haven’t checked out yet, so I don’t know whether we’ll get it back.

The room was fairly clean and comfortable, and the price was good. A few things may depend on which room you get: ours had a noisy refrigerator, a screw sticking up through the floor transition strip, a bathroom fan that didn’t work, and a rack or shelf that wasn’t fully attached to the wall. The pool has been closed since early December, as far as I know, and the breakfast is embarrassing.
