Extended Stay America Suites Indianapolis Airport

There are people living at the hotel who hang around the lobby all the time. My room smelled like dog and mildew, and the toilet was broken. They sent me to a room that had already been used and hadn't been cleaned. I haven't finished my stay yet, but wanted to say something before I leave. The cheap rate isn't worth it.

My second room had a taped-up window covered with plastic, with gaps that let cold air in, and several tears in the furniture. The whole property smelled of weed, and my hallway was awful, like a mix of animals, trash, and general filth. The carpets need a deep clean, and people were loitering outside. I wouldn't stay again and wish I could move to another property since I'm here until Sunday. The first room I was assigned had a toilet that wouldn't flush, and I think it should have been out of service. The front desk changed it without a problem. They were decently kind, though not especially professional in their customer service.

I had to switch rooms, and while the carpet in the second one wasn't as bad, the dog smell was so strong that all my belongings smelled like dog when I checked out. I cleaned the room myself and found personal items, dog toys, and socks under the bed. The fridge door fell off when I opened it, and it took three days for them to fix it. The carpet in my first room was unbelievably disgusting, and the room itself was dirty. The old TVs couldn't even support my Fire Stick. The stovetop didn't work, and the maintenance worker already knew the problem. He said the owner wouldn't order the parts needed to fix it, even though several rooms had the same issue. The third-floor hall carpet was gross and the smell was overwhelming. My room was across from the trash room, where guests could dump their trash. It was overflowing with dirty diapers, gnats, and flies. I had to cover my nose while trying the key, which rarely worked. I needed it reset almost every time I left. There was usually a group, including staff, smoking outside the entrance, so you got a big whiff of cigarettes. The service phone on the wall was filthy, and the lobby smelled funky. Breakfast was a joke, they rarely had coffee, and they don't provide utensils. They kept saying they ran out of things. There were roaches and bedbugs, and the linens and towels were stained. Once, I went out to collect my Uber order and couldn't get back in because my key didn't work. I was in pajamas and had no car on the property, so I waited in the stinky lobby for an hour. I finally picked up that disgusting phone to get help, but nobody answered. I had to ask another guest to use their phone and call the other hotel down the street, begging someone to come help. The person who arrived said the worker on duty had walked out and quit mid-shift. The staff and management were disorganized and unprofessional. Just all bad. I'd never stay here even if it were free. Run!

A couple was fighting and broke the fire sprinkler, flooding my room and others and damaging my belongings. When I asked the manager for insurance information or the corporate number, he said no. He also said they wouldn't pay because it hadn't gotten wet in my room. I told him I had proof and he said to send it, but also said corporate wouldn't cover anything. I'd appreciate any help from my Google reviewers since I can't reach corporate. I have pictures and videos. The place isn't clean at all. Pets are allowed, but the owners are the problem. There was dog shit all over the parking lot, halls, stairs, and elevator. Homeless people shouldn't own dogs.
