The valet parking was a godsend, and the hotel was easy to reach. We stayed so we wouldn't have to drive home after Nate Bargaetze's comedy show at the Gainbridge Field House. The Hampton was within walking distance, though the crowd was overwhelming. Inside, the room was nicely decorated, clean, and stocked with towels and the other supplies we needed. The staff were kind, helpful, and informative. Even with long lines for check-in and valet, nobody got impatient or rushed the service. I'd recommend it to anyone needing a clean, safe place to sleep.

We got in late and left early, so I can't really speak to the location, though driving to and from the hotel we saw lots of places to eat and go. The woman at breakfast, whose name I didn't get, offered to box something up for us since we were short on time. We skipped the hot breakfast, but the hot water was the best, and I thought the bed was great. The service at check-in was amazing; they helped us find parking across the street for half the valet price. Our room, 731, could use more lighting, but the AC was the best we've had in a hotel. I've never seen a room thermostat go down to 50. Hotel rooms often feel stuffy and don't cool well, so I wish every Hilton or Hampton had AC like this one. This was our first visit, and we'll stay again. It'll be our go-to when we're passing through Indy.

The view of the circle was gorgeous, especially with the lights. We stayed for TSO (trans-siberian orchestra) because the hotel was so close to the field house, and had a really enjoyable visit. Damien at the front desk made check-in fun and engaging, and even thanked my husband for his silver status. The rooms were decent, the bed extremely comfortable, and the staff amazing. I'd definitely recommend staying here for the cozy rooms and beautiful views.

I didn't stay at the hotel, and now I won't stay there in future. The public parking area on the east side of the building is fine for a Pacers game and easy to use. It cost 30 dollars when I wrote this review. Just don't cross the pay line: Hampton Inn's valet area is just past the QR Code signs, and they put a paper on your car to charge you more, apparently expecting you to know it's their valet parking. The valet told me they'd raised the issue with their manager, but the manager hasn't marked the area more clearly and ignores the complaints. That leaves working people paying when they just want to enjoy a game, concert, or other event nearby. The manager keeps expecting people to "Know the difference." That's enough for me to never stay or look for a room there. If the manager won't listen to these complaints, I doubt they'd accommodate you if something went wrong in your room. There are plenty of nice hotels nearby or a few miles outside the city, so do your own research for a better option.

It's a great spot if you're going to an event at Gainbridge. The room was spacious but extremely dark, with only a small desk lamp, two little reading lamps above the nightstand, and the entrance ceiling light. There was no soap at the sink, so I had to turn around and use the shower dispenser to wash my hands. The bathroom ceiling looked like it might cave in, with peeling plaster and huge water stains. Honestly, I wouldn't rent room 821 until it's fixed.
