Hilton Garden Inn Indianapolis Airport

I was there on Jan 16th for the night before my flight, and the location was perfect. Zoe checked me in and was wonderful. There were lots of cheerleaders staying there, and the hotel had decorated for them. I asked to be placed away from the group since I needed sleep before an early flight, and Zoe kindly put me on the floor above them. Nothing against the girls, I just needed a quiet night. I realized later that my room had no USB outlets, and I hadn’t brought a block for my phone cord. Zoe apologized and went to find one for me. She was so sweet. I left her a thank-you card the next morning when I returned it. The staff also stay out front and greet you as you pass, which I appreciate compared with hotels where you have to ring a bell to get someone from an office. The whole trip was great, and Zoe’s helpfulness made a difference.

The beds were comfy, the bar service was great, and the Zombie dust ipa was cool. I had chicken and quinoa, which was pretty solid for hotel food, and breakfast was great too. The gym was just okay, with a busted Peloton, but I still got a fine workout.

The truck yard next door made it impossible to sleep, and the room smelled odd. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, too. I’m not sure how this hotel has a rating above 4. Update: An employee was very kind and apologized about the room. They moved me to a suite, and maintenance was working on the smell and wallpaper. The good customer service earns an extra star.

I couldn’t sleep well because of hours of noises going “wu wu.” The included breakfast didn’t mean there was enough food, and there was an extra charge. For takeout, the receipt highlighted a tip, but there still wasn’t enough food. As a diamond member, I couldn’t tell whether I had food credit. The front desk staff gave different options, and I didn’t use any of them. Worst Hilton I’ve stayed at so far.
