Quality Inn South

The room was okay, and we made do with the location even though it wasn’t in the best part of town. The staff were awesome and accommodating. Shout out to Tululah, who was especially great with us and our dog.

The staff were the only bright spot. Ms. Moss at check-in was extremely kind, and the morning crew was nice too. Management quickly moved us when I asked for another room. That first room told the story: it looked tidy at a glance, but there was hair and a blood spot on the sheets, and trash on an uncleaned floor. Having worked for Airbnb, it looked like the kind of place where they assume they can skip changing sheets between guests. That's a practice that should be illegal, and most hotels at least hide it better. The second room seemed clean, but looked decades out of date. There were holes in the wall where electrical fixtures had been, an exposed outlet and wire by the bathroom fan that seemed dangerous, and a shower with barely any water. The TV looked cheaper than the room. The lobby floors were filthy, and the snacks and drinks weren't stocked either. If they can't keep shared spaces clean, why expect the rooms to be better? I'm usually very easygoing and tend to see the good in things. After visiting 45 countries and all 50 states, this is still the worst hotel I've stayed in. There's no saving grace. Management should tear the building down. Guests, stay somewhere else.

The employee who helped us was friendly and did her best with what she had. We had no issue with her; the problem was how the whole place is managed. We waited 45 minutes at the desk to check in. The rooms looked nothing like the website photos, which seemed to be from when the hotel first opened. Everything felt rundown, dirty, and badly in need of renovation. We left our first room because the shower head was broken, the toilet barely flushed, and the TV didn't work. I understand paying less can mean getting less, but this was more what I'd expect from a motel than a hotel, especially a Quality Inn. Charging a $100 deposit for a room full of dirty, broken, patched-up things is ridiculous. What is there left to break? I'd definitely look for another hotel.

We booked online through the Agoda app, then found out at the hotel that there was a nonrefundable $100 deposit. It was late on Valentine's Day, and we had an emergency situation. My fiance, our dog, and I ended up spending the night in her truck. I wouldn't recommend the hotel or the app.
