We spent the holiday weekend with Ashton and his staff at the Hampton Inn in Indianola, MS, and they made us feel like family. The service was excellent throughout. Breakfast was hot and nice, and the staff even made sure my son had a non-pork option.

I stayed from 1/2/26 to 1/4/26 for my father’s funeral. I had some complaints, and they did reach out and give me a very small refund for a charge that was double-billed anyway. I don’t recommend this hotel because the website and the hotel itself don’t seem to be on the same page.

Julius was so compassionate when my mom and I told him we were visiting from Illinois after an unexpected loss in our family. He made us feel welcome, made sure we had what we needed, and took the time to talk with us. He made the experience feel personal. He also said Shannon would be just as great as he is. He’s a wonderful person!

Everyone on staff was kind and friendly, and they all seemed to get along well. Alicia greeted us when we arrived. Check-in took a little while, but she explained that she was new and still learning, and she was polite and accommodating. The other woman with her was kind too. We liked our room, though I did find it a little strange that there was no refrigerator.

The lobby and our room were clean, and the breakfast was one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a while, especially the grits. Everyone we interacted with was helpful and friendly, and Shannon went above and beyond for us. Still, the building needs work: carpet in both the lobby and our room was frayed, and the shower faucet handle didn’t work at all. The franchise holder should be ashamed.
