The wines were good and the setting was peaceful, but the host made the tasting a really unpleasant experience. She rushed us along, sometimes pouring the next wine before we'd finished the last one, and didn't seem interested in engaging with us. We got a quick repeat of the menu's tasting notes, then a strained smile before she went back inside to talk with the other staff. I've visited plenty of wineries, and tastings are a chance to talk with people who know and love wine. Guests should be treated with care and attention. This didn't feel that way at all. Don't bother going, they don't want to be bothered.

The evening wine and hors d'oeuvres were a really nice touch, and I appreciated them. Breakfast was good each morning, with a nice range of choices. Angie made sure the food was prepared the way we liked, all with a friendly smile despite wearing so many hats around the property. Desiree at the front desk gave us a lovely welcome and made sure the guestroom met or exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Summerwood Inn has beautiful, well-kept grounds and equally lovely accommodations, with clean rooms, unique decor and gorgeous views of the Vinyard.

Tina made our daughter's birthday feel really special today. She was our host and did a great job guiding us through the wines. We enjoyed them all, especially the Viognier and white blend, which was my favorite. I highly recommend Summerwood winery.

The Petite Sirah was our favorite, so ask for it if it isn't included in your tasting flight. Buy two bottles and the tasting is taken care of! Michelle was a terrific hostess, friendly, attentive and delightful. The wines were tasty and solid, too. A wonderful tasting, and Summerwood needs to be on your Paso itinerary.

We hadn't heard of this winery before, and Paso Robles has more than 250 wineries now, compared with our last visit 15 years ago. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the wines were. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, prices were very reasonable, and the tasting fee was waived with a purchase. It was a great visit, and we brought home a few bottles.
