Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Inver Grove Heights/Minneap

Clean rooms, a good breakfast and a handy location. It was a decent hotel for the price, and I had no negatives on this stay. I gave it five stars because all the subcategories got four.

I loved the Fall decorations, probably because autumn is my favourite season. The hotel looks new and feels modern but cosy, though I was told it had been renovated recently. Our queen room even had a reading nook by the window, which was a nice touch. Everyone at the front desk was warm, including Evan(?) . After a hard day's travel from Chicago, we felt welcomed right away, and the four days here were wonderful. The free breakfast was a nice surprise: addictive sausages, biscuits and hot gravy, though they didn't make the gravy on Sundays for some reason. There were also waffles, honey, yogurt, scrambled eggs, breads and cereal. Coffee came in medium Colombian, Hawaiian hazelnut flavour, and decaf, plus apple and orange juice. I accidentally overflowed the toilet once, oops, but the hotel helped me sort it out. Huge shout-out for such a lovely stay.

I stayed with my family for a few weeks, and we felt safe and comfortable. All the staff were helpful and friendly, especially Chatay, who was kind and on top of everything.

The room, 222, was small, but that was fine since we didn't plan to sit in it all day. Check-in was flawless, and we were greeted warmly. The service was great. The toilet was the problem: it's low and rocks or tips as though it isn't properly bolted to the floor.
