Super 8 by Wyndham Iola KS

We were visiting family and needed a room that could work for my 88-year-old disabled grandma, my 64-year-old mom, our three small dogs, and a wheelchair. I'd stayed at Super 8 motels before without issues, but this one was especially good. The room was clean, the shower was clean with good pressure, and breakfast was good. Staff I met, including the owner, were friendly and helpful. My mom and grandma were cold with the AC on while I was hot, so the staff happily brought extra blankets, pillows, sheets, and towels. They slept great after that, which mattered because Grandma lives in a nursing home and sleeps on a hospital bed. They offered me a rollaway, but I brought my queen-size air bed and had room to inflate it, so I didn't need it. We were happy with everything and will stay again when we're back. I believe the indoor pool, hot tub, fitness room, and guest laundry were open, though we didn't use them. The hotel is right off Hwy 169, next to Pete's convenience store.

When our water froze, my mother and I stayed two nights. She's 80, and after she fell, the man at the front desk and his wife helped me get her up. Their kindness and care overwhelmed me. It was the best stay I've ever had, knowing we were being treated with such kindness. I really enjoyed it and will come back. My mom is 80 and in her last days, and she isn't doing very well, so it meant a lot to know people could be so kind and caring. Thank you for your time, Sheri Hall.

The beds are about the only thing I'd come back for. I checked in tonight, and I'm not happy with this hotel. The pool was freezing, and the hot tub wasn't even warm. My kids were shivering after barely 10 minutes in it, and they were really upset about the pool since I was looking forward to doing that with them. There was no body wash in the room, and the shampoo and conditioner bottles were tiny. The man at the front desk barely spoke to me. I haven't tried breakfast yet, but will in the morning. After the first night, I'm not satisfied.

We got to the Iola Super 8 early, and the manager let us into our room ahead of time. Since my husband has health and walking problems, the manager placed us near the lobby. The room was clean and had the amenities we needed. With class reunions and Farm City Days happening all weekend, there were many other reunions at the hotel, so we got to catch up with classmates and have breakfast with them on Saturday. The staff were friendly and helpful. My husband got sick and we had to leave town early, and the hotel understood. We appreciated their kindness.
