Comfort Inn Iron Mountain North

The check in at the front desk was slow, but the breakfast made up for it. It's a nice, basic hotel, and my room was clean and quiet.

I was in northern Michigan for work and stayed one night while passing through. The nearly empty parking lot and the bowling alley next door made me a little nervous. Aside from needing fresh paint, though, it wasn't a bad hotel. It was clean and quiet, and the room didn't smell like weed, which is all a girl can ask for in a hotel these days!

The bed was basically a brick, the one real downside. Otherwise, the service was great, with very nice and helpful staff. Breakfast was what you'd expect from a continental spread. I've had worse elsewhere and have no complaints about it. The king room had a couch, safe, microwave, fridge, iron and ironing board, and wifi. It was clean, smelled good, and had decent space. They'd just painted the hallways, but the room didn't smell of paint. The bathroom fan and light were a trip: the light flickered and strobed as it came on, and the loud fan clicked, but we could overlook that. I'm not familiar with the area, but the location seemed fine, close enough to places to eat and things to see. It was quiet and easy to reach, right off a major road.

The service was good, the room was nice, and the bed was great. Breakfast was a very good hot one. Highly recommend!
