Holiday Inn Express Iron Mountain

The rooms were among the cleanest I've seen, even compared with the hundreds of hotels we stay at each year, and everything felt up to date. Prices are very reasonable, too. The front desk staff and housekeepers were friendly and helpful, and the place had a calm, welcoming feel. Breakfast was a good continental spread. I'd recommend it to locals and travelers alike.

Everything was very clean, and we had no problems during our stay. Breakfast was okay, with eggs, sausage links, cereal, oatmeal, juice, and cinnamon rolls to choose from. We were happy here and would stay again on another trip.

The hotel down the road charged me a third as much, had a room just as clean, and the woman even got out of bed at 3 a.m. to check me in. God bless her and her family. I arrived here at 3 in the morning on October 4, 2025, needing a room only until the 11 a.m. checkout, just eight hours. They wanted almost $200. I'm handicapped, exhausted, and explained that I'd tried calling and booking online, but couldn't complete it. He didn't care. The service and attitude were horrible. Not good at all.

My sister is a missionary in Africa, and this has been an awful injustice. Her wedding had to be postponed while she waited for her fiancé's visa. In November, her wedding coordinator called the hotel to cancel, gave the couple's names and wedding dates, and was told there was nothing under those details to cancel. Then on December 19, my sister was charged $1,200 for the rooms. She called reservations twice before 6 p.m. to cancel. The first time was back in November. On the December call, at 5:55, they said they'd cancel but their computer was down, and sent her to the front desk. By the time it went through, it was 6:01. The manager and company are still refusing a refund. We've spoken with four people at IHG who say the manager is the only one authorized to issue it, and that they told her so. She says she can't, and has lied to us several times. After seeing other reviews describing similar experiences, it feels like they're trying to get away with robbing people. IHG and this hotel should be ashamed. All they care about is the money, not their customers. This is wrong on every level.
