Magnuson Hotel Ironwood

The room was clean, and the staff were great when we saw them. Booking and check-in were easy, and checkout was even simpler: we dropped the key cards in a box and sent a text. It was an affordable, good fit for two nights, and I’d use the hotel again despite having gone in with low expectations from other reviews. We did go through six key cards. The first two didn’t work; of the next pair, only one did. After that one stopped working, we tried a third pair, and both worked. It was a hassle, but the on-site check-in computer helped resolve it.

A few blocks from MTN Zions slopes, a few doors down from Kwik trip, the best convenience store in town, and right across from gogebic range bank. I don’t like those guys for personal reasons, but I’ll leave it at that. The staff at magnuson have been a huge help during my stay, and I really appreciate them. After doing some wintery parkour down a ski hill and attempting front flips, I got back to my room and they came to my rescue. I’ve still got another fun-filled, adventurous night ahead, and I can relax knowing they’ve got my back. One of my go-to hotels in ironwood. They go above and beyond, all the way to the moon 🌙. I’d give them six stars if I could, pun intended.

The heater was stuck on full blast and woke us between 2 and 3 in the morning, with the room over 100°. We had to unplug it and open the windows. When I called to complain, the maintenance man let himself into the room and walked in just as my 12-year-old daughter was changing. That was completely unacceptable. When I called again, the guy on the phone just said “my bad,” and left it at that.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was where we wanted to be. Check-in was self-service at a kiosk, which was different. Housekeeping made several attempts to check whether we were still in the room and should have let us leave in peace. Checkout is 11 a.m., y’all, we’d have been gone by then.
