The August Inn

This has become my favorite nearby getaway. It’s an easy escape without a long drive, and every visit feels special. The whole house is peaceful, welcoming, and comfortable, with thoughtful details throughout each room. Chris is such a warm, intentional host that it feels like she’s creating an experience, not just providing a place to stay. I always look forward to breakfast. It’s delicious and beautifully prepared, and she carefully considers food allergies, which makes you feel genuinely cared for. I leave refreshed and already thinking about my next visit. It’s hard to leave.

Old Town Spring’s quaint shops are just a short walk away, enough to make a whole day of browsing before returning to this comforting place that feels like a bit of the town’s history. Our room was impeccable down to the little details, including fresh-cut flowers my wife admired. The host made a wonderful breakfast and chatted with us warmly. We had an amazing stay, just as other people have described.

We loved hearing the trains pass at all hours. With the tracks running right beside The August Inn, it gave the place a character that felt like stepping back in time. The owner had earplugs and a noise machine ready for guests who wanted quiet. The town was lovely too, with history, good food, and friendly people. Our host welcomed us like family, and the room was cozy and thoughtfully decorated, with charming details that made it feel like home. I worked during the day, and the owner was so sweet and made me feel relaxed and cared for. We left happy and relaxed, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. The August Inn is warm, beautiful, and elegant in a heartwarming way.

Kris and her husband, Pete, were wonderful hosts and made sure we had what we needed for an enjoyable stay. We’ll definitely be back. With shops and restaurants within walking distance, it would be a lovely spot for a girls’ trip. The train across the street adds to the ambiance of this cute B&B.
