Casa Morada

We felt at home right away, and the staff were the cherry on top. I was even greeted with a hug. I’d arranged some accommodations ahead of time for the night we were celebrating, and the staff nailed it. They never made our questions feel like a bother. The place was quiet and never felt crowded, with friendly people and no kids running around unsupervised or peeing in the pool. We got early check-in and late check-out, which felt very VIP. After staying at Caribbean resort and Chesapeake Beach Resort, both great but expensive, this will be our new go-to in Islamorada. We hope it stays off the radar, it’s such a perfect hidden gem. The bar was closed because of the ownership change, but they offered compensation for that. Thanks for the champagne, Sam. Within ten minutes of arriving, my significant other was asking if we could stay an extra night.

Ali and Pabla were a delight, friendly and responsive the whole time. The house is thoughtfully designed, and the view from the living room and infinity pool is stunning. We had a dream week at Casa Morada in February. 10/10, we’ll return!

The setting is gorgeous and tucked into a quiet corner, yet close to the restaurants and activities we wanted. The rooms and buildings have a simple, pretty retro feel. We booked the “Sun” room for its incredible bay view. Across a little bridge, the pool and bar sit on their own island, with lounge chairs along the bay. There’s a ladder for snorkeling, and gear is provided. Kayaks and bikes are available whenever you like at no extra charge. Breakfast was delicious, and Ruth made a great espresso or cappuccino each morning. We had a phenomenal stay at Casa Morada. The two things that kept it from being perfect were the shower temperature, which we couldn’t adjust so our showers were veryyyy hot, and a balcony too small to enjoy. Still, I’d recommend it to anyone.

A small, quiet resort in a lovely natural setting, perfect for our birthday getaway with friends. Our room was unique, spacious, crisp, and clean, and we loved the outdoor shower. The front office staff were sweet, welcoming, and accommodating. The grounds are pretty, the location easy, and breakfast was generous. The bartender was a pleasure to chat with while we enjoyed drinks and a perfect view. A memorable stay, and we’ll definitely be back!
