Chesapeake Beach Resort

Our waterfront room faced the sunrise, and the view was gorgeous. It was clean and quite spacious, and the shoreline access was amazing. The resort is also close to several well-known spots. Breakfast staff were just okay: nobody greeted us, they simply asked what kind of omelette we wanted. We left around 9:30. I’d recommend this place for a short stay.

The made-to-order egg breakfast really set the place apart for us. We also had fun playing beach checkers on the giant game board. The lobby has a spotless beach theme, and our room looked out over the beach. Everything felt immaculate and the rooms were right on point. There are two pools, one saltwater and one freshwater, plus a hot tub. We were in awe of the place. Awesome job, we’ll be back!

Jasmine and Vanessa at the front desk came through for me on my last day when I was in a real bind. I’m so grateful, and the staff here clearly understand customer service. I’ll be back, and I want to thank them again. I spent three nights in room 211, a partial ocean view king. It’s fresh and updated, with a big walk-in shower and balcony that I especially liked. The fridge and microwave were useful too. I do wish I’d paid extra for the full ocean view, since most of what I saw was the heated pool and the neighboring building, with just a bit of ocean from the balcony corner. Breakfast was excellent. I had an omelette each morning made by the same friendly gentleman. I enjoyed both pools and the hot tub, and there was live music Saturday afternoon. The clear kayaks are right out front and easy to use. I went out on the Morada Mermaid boat for both the sandbar trip and sunset cruise, and recommend them. It leaves from a marina seven minutes down the road. In January it was only $50 per person, a steal. A trip to Islamorada isn’t complete without getting out on the water. Two good restaurants are next door: upscale Flagler Station and casual Wahoo’s. I had a great experience at each.

We’d definitely come back. The rooms were clean, nice, and serviced daily, and the front desk was helpful. Staff also accommodated our needs, and the live breakfast bar had lots of options and impeccable service. The area is beautiful, with kayaks and fishing poles available to rent, plus good restaurants and fun activities nearby. I’d recommend it for families.
