Hadley Resort and Marina

Giselle, the manager, made our stay especially smooth. She was welcoming, knew her stuff, and went out of her way to help. The property itself is beautiful and clean, right on the water in Islamorada, and the location made for a relaxing visit. We had a wonderful time at Hadley Resort and Marina, and I’d definitely come back.

We’d stayed here before and loved it, but this time we won’t be back. We were told there would be a heated pool, but there wasn’t. Getting towels was a mess: first we were told to bring our used ones to the office for replacements, then after we did that, we were told new ones would be brought to us. Ten hours later, there were still no towels. When we called, they told us to come to the office to get them. We also had to keep telling staff about a mess someone had left outside our room on the floor before it was finally cleaned up. The staff were rude.

This was our second visit to the Hadley House, and we’d even talked friends into booking a room this time. We started in courtyard room 612. The shower barely trickled, then the toilet leaked at the base and flooded the bathroom. Black, murky water came up through the bathtub. It was disgusting. We were told to move rooms, but nobody apologized or offered to comp the first night. They moved us to a tower room near the water. That was fine, except there was nowhere to put my luggage. The floors were filthy, and my white socks turned black. It was obvious they weren’t mopping between guests, but I had to put my luggage down anyway. The man at the front desk had long white fingernails and didn’t apologize or show any sympathy for the trouble. The staff weren’t friendly and were barely around. The maintenance crew had gone home early on a Friday. I left my phone number for management to call, but they never did. We’ve had our fill of the Hadley House and won’t return. They La Jolla.

All in all, it was a wonderful visit and I’d stay again. Bernadete got me into my room early, and Vickaya helped me find good places to hang out and eat. The property was beautiful, and the staff were incredibly welcoming.
