The best parts were the mountain view, the low price (under $300 for four nights), and the friendly staff we spoke with. The place allows dogs, and our unit had a full kitchen. We also made good use of the indoor pool, jacuzzi, and sauna since Jackman didn't give us much else to do. WiFi was patchy, but good enough for me to get some work done. I wanted to use the gym, but the equipment was old and there wasn't even a treadmill. There were a lot of problems with the unit, though. We booked unit 2 on the first floor through Airbnb, where it was called a “condo.” It felt more like a hotel suite. The toilet handle broke on our first night and it wouldn't flush. Staff said nobody could come that evening, and maintenance could come in the morning, but we were planning to sleep in. The other option was a second-floor unit, which wasn't great with our dogs. We'd unpacked and were tired after the 2-1/2-hour drive, so we didn't want to move. My boyfriend managed a temporary fix, but it broke again the next day. We had to remove the tank lid and pull the chain by hand for the rest of the stay. The bathroom lights over the sink didn't work until our last morning, when they suddenly came on after I showered. The hot-water handle on the faucet fell off that final day, and the hand towel holder had come off the wall the day before. The place needs some care. The TV in the bedroom hutch showed only snow, with no local channels or smart TV options. The older, smaller living-room TV had Roku, at least. The couch was so worn out, with sloping, sunken cushions, that we couldn't use it. The bed pillows were flat and worn too. We spent four nights here over New Years, hoping to visit somewhere new, and found it through Airbnb because of the good reviews and cheap rate. We probably won't return. The scenery is beautiful, but Jackman just isn't our kind of place.

The resort staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome, and we had a successful Valentine's Day weekend. The heated indoor pool and hot tub were clean and well kept, the room was too, and the pool table was a nice bonus. There was plenty of room for snowmobiles, and we didn't need to leave the resort to have fun. It's up on a mountain, so the drive in and out felt a little sketchy, as you'd expect. In winter, make sure you have four-wheel drive. Getting into town was a different story. Police seemed wary of outsiders, and I was pulled over twice in two days. No harm done and no tickets once they realized we were just visiting and weren't up to anything illegal. On the way back across the Canadian border, customs searched my girlfriend's whole car. That was fine, since we had nothing to hide, though it felt like they put her on a list. From their perspective it was probably reasonable, given I'd driven all the way from NJ to be with her. Thanks as well to the officers for being cool about it in the end. They could have given me tickets and made things a lot harder, but didn't. I'd gladly stay here again if I'm in the area.

The location is perfect, but I won't send family here again. If someone had cleaned before their weekend stay, they might have had a great time. Halfway through October, they had to remove the AC themselves, and there were inches of ladybugs piled above it. The whole building was buzzing with thousands of them, so they walked around with a vacuum to get what they could. Turning on the ceiling fan sent clumps of dusty cobwebs and ladybugs flying around for hours. There were cobwebs all over the walls and porch. The porch was like a tunnel of webs, far more than photos can show.

A great cabin-in-the-woods stay, with lovely pools and a hot tub for an incredible price. The TV quality wasn't great and the internet was a bit slow, but that didn't matter much out here. We could still stream on our fire stick and unwind after a day of adventures. I'd stay again without hesitation.

Cabin 21 has a lovely location and is beautiful, with three beds that are better than good and a futon that's okay in a pinch. The resort amenities looked nice, but we didn't stay there, so I can't speak to their condition. The cabin itself needs maintenance, and I wouldn't recommend it. Both showers/tubs were awful, and the only place to hang anything was four small hooks by the door. It's listed for 10 people, but I don't buy that. The pullout sofa was such a disgusting joke of a piece of furniture that I couldn't charge the poor person who got stuck sleeping on it.
