Carter Notch Inn

Our room, the Treehouse room, was just right, with a big updated bathroom and a jacuzzi tub. The inn itself has a lovely New England feel and is beautifully situated, with wonderful views and scenery all around. Donna made delicious hot breakfasts every morning, and even shared her recipe for the incredible Blueberry French Toast Bake. Danny knew the White Mountains inside out and spent time helping us map out each day's exploring. They also gave us restaurant suggestions that were right on. We had a wonderful few days at Carter Notch Inn this past week. The hosts, Donna and Danny, were so warm and welcoming. We definitely hope to come back, so don't hesitate to choose the inn for a White Mountains stay!

After five nights here, I'm already thinking about booking another stay next month. Danny and Donna are such warm, lovely people, and they know the area inside out. They shared lots of information on restaurants, hiking trails, and other things to do in the White Mountains. Donna's blueberry French toast casserole with real maple syrup was so good I keep thinking about it. The outdoor hot tub was a lovely bonus after a full day, too. The house is on a little hill above the golf course, with mountain views out back. I loved sitting in the swinging chair on the front porch and enjoying how peaceful it was. I especially liked our king room, with its own bathroom, soft sheets, and little deck. The inn is furnished nicely, with lots of interesting touches without feeling too busy. There are several different kinds of rooms, including one with a connecting kids' room and a ladder up to a loft. Breakfast is a treat every day. The homemade pancakes with their own maple syrup were a favorite, and Danny helped us plan each day with maps and advice. Donna also packed a piece of Almond breakfast bread for later. There are plenty of interesting places nearby to fill a week, and Mt. Washington is a big draw. It's a short drive, though you might prefer the train or van instead of driving up yourself. Danny also pointed us toward lovely spots and the best times to avoid the crows. He and Donna are terrific hosts. A favorite stop for me was the coffee shop with its delicious lattes. There are several restaurants within a mile for lunch or dinner. Carter Notch Inn has become a new favorite, and we'd certainly stay again.

We love coming back to Carter Notch Inn. This was our second stay with Danny and Donna, and their hospitality and amenities were just as pleasing. The place is charming, warm, and inviting, and we enjoy chatting with the hosts and other guests over breakfast about what everyone's been doing and favorite things nearby. Jackson looks like a fairytale under fresh snow, and it's perfectly placed for winter fun, from skiing and snowshoeing to exploring the area. After a busy day in the snow, the outdoor hot tub is a great place to warm up and relax. Thanks for another memorable visit. Can't wait to return!
