From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome and helped with everything we needed. The Old Timer was a nice place to eat on site, and the staff there were warm and fantastic. The trout was amazing. Trailborn is a great hotel concept, with lots of extras that made the stay feel above and beyond. The room was decorated beautifully with a Jackson hole theme, and the little details made a big difference. We also loved the game room, fitness center, pool and hot tub.

The location is a little outside town, so restaurants and shops aren’t really within walking distance. Service was lackluster too. I checked in around 2:15 and waited about 45 minutes for my keys. Three or four employees were in the back office and could have helped the long line, but they didn’t come out until I asked another hotel employee for help. The room was average and a little dirty, with odd stains on the furniture. The remodel seemed to be about four years old. The decorations and fixtures were well designed, and depending on the room, the views can be great. Think of it like a Courtyard Inn, neither great nor terrible. I’d recommend Cloudveil instead. It’s a much nicer hotel, with much better service and close to town.

The town was quiet when we visited near the end of ski season, and we enjoyed getting out to explore. We’d hoped Jackson Hole would be a fun special stop for the kids, but the resort itself felt dated and was a letdown. The heated pool stayed closed our whole visit, and when we asked the front desk for local places to check out, all we got was “good luck.” We had some fun anyway, but I’m not sure we’d stay there again.

The rental place refunded us for two days, but the resort refused to give anything back and only offered a credit. We won’t be bringing our business back. We bought lift tickets and three days of rentals for three of our kids, then found out after paying and getting up the mountain that a ski race meant only one green run was open. We were told to take a harder slope down or wait for permission to ride the lift back down. One worker even said my little niece could manage it. The resort should have told us about the limited runs before taking our money. If they’d been upfront, I wouldn’t be writing this. This was my first experience like this here, and it deserved less than one star.

We had a great time skiing, and Vicente gave us a wonderful lesson. The hotel’s in a great spot, and the rooms are decent. Most of the staff were great, but the front desk interactions really brought things down. Everyone we dealt with there came across as unfriendly, dismissive, and unhelpful. ANTHONY was the worst, and was dismissive every time we spoke with him. I hope he’s doing okay, since he seemed miserable. I hope the front desk team can be replaced or at least learn to treat people reasonably nicely.
