AC Hotel Jacksonville St Johns Town Center

We ended up choosing this hotel after stopping by without a reservation to see it in person. It took us about a minute to decide, and for the time of year and occupancy, I’d be comfortable paying into the low $200s per night before considering somewhere else. We’d stayed at a nearby hotel in March for about the same price, and although I’d liked it then, AC Hotel felt noticeably better. I was impressed, especially since this isn’t generally seen as a premium Marriott brand. The staff were welcoming, kind, and attentive, even though we didn’t ask for anything special. The calm, quiet atmosphere on New Year’s Eve was a pleasant surprise. The minimalist room was clean, modern, and well equipped. St. Johns Town Center dining and shops are an easy walk away, though we drove because it was chilly. A few things could be better. The TV kept cycling through a Marriott Bonvoy presentation, and I couldn’t get streaming or live TV to work. We didn’t mention it to staff, so it may have been easy to fix. The mattress felt a little firm for my taste. The third-floor ice machine was slow, which might be a problem on a busy night, though the model and cube size probably explain that. Basic Wi-Fi was fine for everyday use, at around 17 Mbps down and 19 Mbps up. Parking was plentiful and convenient.

Shopping nearby was great, and the location worked perfectly for the events we came to town for. Everyone on staff was friendly and greeted us whenever we headed out or came back. Our room was comfortable and clean. The mattress was a bit too soft, and the thin walls and floors mentioned in other reviews are real, though thankfully it wasn’t too bad for us. We did wish there were a microwave.

Being right in the middle of St Johns Town Center made getting to shops, restaurants, and other parts of Jacksonville easy. The hotel has a quiet, upscale feel, with thoughtful modern design from the lobby through the rooms. The hallways and shared spaces were spotless, and our room was clean and nicely laid out, with a comfortable bed and strong water pressure. It was a relaxing place to unwind or get some work done. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive without hovering. The whole place felt well managed and focused on guest experience. If you want a refined, convenient base near Town Center, this is a solid fit for a business stay or a weekend in Jacksonville.

I’m a Marriott Titanium member, and my stay on 2/16/26 was a huge disappointment. I was on the second floor, where a terrible smell hit as soon as I stepped out of the elevator. I don’t know what the water problem was, but there was a huge floor fan, and it ran all night. There was also a lot of noise from young partygoers, so I got no sleep. When I contacted Marriott Bonvoy, they said there was no fan and no water issue.
