Everything about our getaway felt five star, from the service, food, and atmosphere to the comfortable hotel and good people. We started at the Wine Lounge, did a wine tasting, had dinner in The Restaurant downstairs, then went back to the Wine Lounge for live music. And the mattress was the best I’ve ever had in a hotel.

I’ve only tried the restaurant downstairs and the wine bar, and I really enjoy both. The food downstairs is gourmet, and the wine bar has a nice atmosphere.

The setting where brunch was served was really nice, and my eggs Benedict was fine, with nothing bad to say about it. But we had a rough time getting there and being served. The hostess said she didn’t know why there were no signs guiding customers through the restaurant to the patio. Once we found it and sat down, nobody came for our drink order for ten minutes. The two blood orange Mimosas tasted like they’d shown the glasses some champagne and then filled them with juice. My wife asked for a burger with raw onions only, no grilled onions, but it arrived with both. She ate a couple of bites and waited with it in front of her, and no one checked on us. After 25 minutes a server asked if we were done. My wife explained about the onions, and the server just asked if she wanted a box. No apology, or offer to get our waitress. I also noticed they add a 20% gratuity for tables of five. I won’t be back.

We had live music in the wine lounge every night, and since our room was right above it, we could hear it. It didn’t run late and wasn’t an issue. The room itself was incredible, comfortable, and nicely styled, with reasonable rates and lovely perks. Staff were friendly and communicated really well. The wine lounge and restaurant were lovely, with a great selection of food and drinks. We chose this spot for our anniversary and couldn’t have made a better choice. I’d recommended it to lots of friends as a lovely getaway, and we’d definitely return.
