Riverdale Inn

We come back to the Riverdale Inn every year and don’t stay anywhere else. It’s our favorite B&B. The breakfast is excellent, so don’t miss it, and there are countless good places to eat and shop within walking distance. The lovely neighborhood is a pleasure to walk around, and after a busy day we like sitting on the huge front porch. The historic home is beautiful and welcoming, air-conditioned throughout, and impeccably maintained inside and out. Rooms and beds are large, clean, and luxurious, with en suite baths. The staff are very friendly and caring.

I had a very nice stay in May 2026. Everything in the room worked, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The mini fridge was larger than the usual dorm-style kind and had a freezer compartment, which was handy, but it was packed with items for sale, leaving almost no room for my own things. I rearranged it and was then charged for a drink that was still inside, even though it wasn’t in its original spot. That seemed unnecessary since there’s another fridge and a bar downstairs where you can buy drinks, and Publix is a block away.

The carriage house was a lovely room, with a beautiful en suite bathroom, and parking was convenient. We were in Jacksonville visiting family for several days, and the B&B looked especially lovely with its Christmas decorations. Breakfast was very good, and the atmosphere was so friendly.

My room had plenty of space and character, and it was spotless. The house itself is about 130 years old, beautifully cared for, and sits in a charming neighborhood where you can walk to lots of great restaurants. Eric was patient with my questions before I booked and kindly worked with me on an early check-in. He welcomed me with fresh French press coffee, then made avocado toast with eggs and perfectly crisp bacon to order. There were other good choices on the menu too. Hailey, the housekeeper, was very kind and helpful as well. You won't regret staying here.
