Hampton Inn Suites Jacksonville Airport

Camara was very nice whenever we saw her, starting at check-in. Our room was older but clean. Breakfast was good, though I wish there’d been fresh fruit. For anyone concerned about the location, there are three restaurants within walking distance, and a huge shopping center with lots of choices about a two-mile drive away.

The airport location, nearby restaurants, reasonable rate, and roomy parking lot were all positives. The rooms, though, are badly outdated and the place needs a remodel. As a Diamond member, I had to ask the front desk for water when I arrived, and there were no snacks. I wasn't bothered by missing snacks, but that interaction said a lot about the service. It needs major improvement, and I won't stay here again.

Getting to the airport the next morning was quick and free of traffic, which made this a handy place to stay before an early flight. Parking was easy, and check-in was fast and entertaining. My husband tried to embarrass me in front of strangers, but the staff caught on and joined in while I gave him a taste of his own medicine. The room had lots of space and the furnishings fit it well. The pillow-top bed, plus the extra pillows, was incredibly comfortable. The shower had good pressure, though I wish the water had been a little warmer. Staying at the Hampton Inn made our vacation start on a good note.

The service was good, but this was easily the worst Hampton Inn I've stayed in, even though I've usually preferred the brand. The place felt dirty and dated, and the room ceiling was so rippled and damaged that I expected it might cave in. I left very disappointed.
