America's Best Inn - Jacksonville

My friend was on a tight budget, so we checked this place out, but I pulled her out of there right away and took her somewhere else. Roaches were coming out of the rooms. I also spotted needles in the parking lot. I went to nudge them aside with my foot, and the groundskeeper hurried over to pick them up before I could. I wasn't going to touch them. While my friend was trying to check in, I saw an older man leave a room and hand something to a young woman. She went into another room, then came back with something in her hand. I don't know what I witnessed, and I wasn't going to risk my friend finding out the hard way. I saw roaches come out too, maybe looking for warmth. I rushed into the office and got her out. Unless you're after a quick fix, stay far away.

I'd stayed here for nearly 30 days over the last two months and had actually liked the place until this latest weekly booking. I asked to switch rooms because of the cockroach infestation, but the woman refused and accused me of bringing the roaches in. The customer service was awful. The TV and cable barely work either. I'm an honest person, and I wouldn't make this up. Don't waste your money here, find a more respectable hotel.

This is a last resort motel, and even then it's a waste of money. The place is filthy and badly kept. My bed hadn't been made, and the sheets they'd left in the room were on the floor. There's no value here. Try one of the other hotels nearby.

The key they gave me didn't work, and I only discovered that after midnight, when the office had closed and nobody was around. Staff seem to abandon the place overnight. I waited until 3 a.m., then decided to break into my own room. It was disturbingly easy. For the cheapest place in Jacksonville, I still think they charge too much. Pay extra and stay elsewhere.
