Hampton Inn & Suites Jacksonville South - Bartram Park

Armeena was especially helpful with dinner ideas and was just a friendly person to talk to. We had a lovely stay: it was clean, quiet, in a good location, and the staff were welcoming. I’d have liked a few more breakfast choices, though it was what we expected from a Hampton Inn.

We booked and paid in full back in November, but after a 12-hour drive we arrived at 9 PM and were told the hotel had given our room away. They said the place was full and had nothing else to rent us that night. I showed them the receipt and confirmation number, and they admitted they had given that same confirmation to another couple who arrived earlier. We spent until 11:30 PM finding another hotel, after about 15 hours on the road. I’ve never seen a hotel handle things this way. At my request they called the manager, but he said he couldn’t discuss it with us or give us a refund. I felt bad for the desk clerk, who kept apologizing and gave us two bottles of water, though she seemed worried she’d get in trouble for it. Update: the hotel replied that it had no record of our stay. I tried to send proof of the paid reservation, but apparently customers can’t respond to their replies. I posted it on Google Maps instead. The room had been paid for in November, and they still won’t acknowledge the mistake. Now I have to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I recommend not paying in advance unless they replace their manager.

For a business trip or weekend in this area, this is a wonderful hotel in its category. It’s not a five-star resort, but there are plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. The rooms are a little small, though modern and clean, with large TVs that are easy to watch from anywhere. There are lots of 120vAC outlets and USB ports by the desk and bed. The staff are kind, friendly, and eager to help. In its class, it’s absolutely five stars.

Armeena at the front desk made the visit especially memorable. She greeted me warmly, checked in by text now and then to see what I needed, and joked that I was “Mrs. Claus” because of my Christmas outfit. The morning of December 26, I mentioned two concerns about the room and both were sorted within 30 minutes. Amazing service. I was there December 25-26, 2025, and had a fabulous stay. The room was spacious, the service spectacular, and breakfast had plenty of options. Customer care was wonderful throughout. It’s less than five minutes from my brother’s home, where I was visiting over Christmas, so I’ll definitely return. Don’t miss this gem.
