Residence Inn by Marriott Jacksonville Butler Boulevard

The location is convenient, and it was a great stay. Blake at the front desk and the woman who handles weekday breakfast stood out for their professionalism and dedication. Maintenance workers also put in effort to keep the place updated. It isn’t perfect, but it’s a great hotel.

The studio rooms are a decent size, but the layout of the building is awful. I was glad to be on the first floor. The elevator is far from the entrance, and moving in from the third floor would have taken twice as long. It took me an hour to bring in my things. I looked all over my building for a luggage cart and had to get one from another building. The carts are tiny, which makes little sense at an extended stay hotel where people bring a lot of belongings. The carts barely fit through the doorways. The door nearest my room was on a slight incline, so the cart rolled downhill while I was trying to open the door with my keycard. On the first trip I hadn’t realized how narrow the doorway was, and my things stuck out, making it hard to get through. You can’t push these carts through backwards, so you have to pull them by the bottom rung at the front. The hotel is conveniently close to the highway, but road noise is pretty loud.

Blake was so humble and made the stay memorable. All the staff were friendly and professional, and the hospitality was top-notch. It was an incredible stay from start to finish, and I’m already looking forward to planning another one. I’ve never had such a peaceful, mentally relaxing break.

The upgrade was a nice surprise, especially since few Marriott hotels offer one with my Bonvoy Gold Elite status. My room was well kept, the bed was very comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job. Breakfast staff were good too, and all the staff and managers were very helpful. I’ve stayed at this Residence Inn over the years and find it well maintained and well managed. This review is late: my stay was August 31 to September 7.
