Hometown Inn & Suites Jacksonville - Butler Blvd./Southpoint

We left at 5 a.m. after my itching got really bad overnight. It turned out to be bed bugs, so I woke my coworker, and we packed up and went straight out. We had come back late that evening, exhausted, and already found cockroaches in the filthy room. There was also a strange, unpleasant smell in the hallway, and we didn't have the energy to deal with bugs crawling on the walls. We were there for a work trip on February 14, 2026. I reported everything to the front desk and asked for a full refund because we'd paid for three nights but couldn't stay in those unsanitary, unsafe conditions. The employee didn't seem surprised when I mentioned bed bugs, which was very concerning. Since then, there's been no communication, no refund, and no response from the General Manager. The whole experience was unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. I'd strongly caution anyone thinking of staying here.

My husband was covered in bed bug bites. The room was dirty and smelled like old cigarette smoke, the drawers were falling apart, and the bathtub had no plug. Worst stay ever. If I could give zero, I would. Just don't go.

We stayed two nights with our small dog. At check-in they said the $50 room deposit and $45 pet deposit would be returned after checkout. After our trip I checked the charges. The $50 came back, but the $45 was charged. Our pup hadn't damaged anything. When I called, the associate was curt and rude, telling me it wasn't a deposit but a fee. That feels like a scam. We checked in late afternoon on 12/03/2025, in room 203. You can probably work out which employee it was, the one who lied to us and may have pocketed the money. They're why we won't return, and probably why others won't book after reading this. Don't hire liars who steal customers' money and you might have a good business. Hometown inn and suites is a terrible place. Shameful behavior.

Carmen was so welcoming and nice, which made the stay even better. The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean, and the location was convenient. Everything went smoothly in Jacksonville. I'd definitely come back.
