I slept better here than I think I ever have away from home. The AC kept the room super cool, and the bed was fantastic. We had a Bayside room, spacious and nicely decorated, with good privacy, plenty of bathroom space, luxury linens, and robes. The location beat my expectations too, with easy parking, lots of food within walking distance, and great views. Many thanks to the hosts for a wonderful stay.

After being told to leave, I spent the next two hours trying to find somewhere for my family on Labor Day Saturday night. At $450 a night, this was a hurtful and humiliating experience, and I can't imagine an owner treating guests this way unless prejudice was involved. When I booked by phone, Rebecca described the room as a two-bedroom suite, but didn't explain it meant two separate rooms and a shared bathroom in a common area of the hotel. The setup is on the third floor, accessible to any guest. With two young children, I didn't feel safe leaving them alone in one room. When I asked Rebecca about moving bedding around, she seemed incredulous and asked, “where are you from?” as if a concern like mine could only come from someone from a third world place. I said I was from CT, explained the room arrangement hadn't been clear, and said we'd manage. She offered to return my deposit if I left, but it was late and I had nowhere else to go, so I said I would make the sleeping arrangements work. She was also offended that I sprayed our doorknobs with Lysol, though I thought hotel owners would understand guests taking extra precautions during a pandemic. A few minutes later, I came downstairs and heard Rebecca mocking me to her husband. I felt insulted, wished her good night, and went to my car to drive to my family at dinner. Rebecca came outside and gave me a nasty look. I told her guests should be able to ask questions or make comments without offending her. She laughed at me mockingly. I said I wasn't trying to offend her and there was no need to laugh. Before I drove off, her husband Mike tapped my window and told me I didn't need to stay there, to collect my things, and to leave everything else in tact. I was shocked, but quietly got my things, wished them good night, and left. I've traveled all over the world and, as a woman of color, had never experienced this kind of prejudice at a hotel.

Diane made me feel welcome and wanted from the late-night arrival right through to the early departure. We were treated like royalty at breakfast, which was homemade every morning, and got tips on places to see and ways to save with coupons for the mansions. The home is beautiful and very clean. You can tell a lot of care went into making it feel like a home away from home. Biscotti and chocolates were available all the time, along with coupons for local deals. I highly recommend it as my new home from home in Rhode Island.

Rebecca and Mike welcomed everyone with smiles, and the breakfasts were delicious, with fresh baked goods scenting the House in the morning. The place was super clean, cozy, quiet, and close to everything we needed. We'll absolutely recommend it and come back. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

The owners make this warm, cozy home feel like you're part of their extended family, and we can't say enough good things. We've stayed at the EBB&B several times, usually when visiting family down the coast. It's our place to stay in Jamestown, within walking distance of local favorites and the 4th of July fireworks over the water. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms have been updated. Book a month or more ahead if you can, since they stay pretty full, especially around major holidays.
