The Palm Hotel

I wish I'd never set foot in that disgusting motel. Cleaning the filth took me three days, and even after that we got athlete's foot, a bad flu, and had trouble breathing. The place felt completely unsafe, especially for children. The owners and managers were the worst people to deal with. Do not stay here.

Michael greeted us at the entrance and was very personable while sorting out the arrangements. He found us the room we asked for and even offered to make breakfast, though we had to leave very early the next day. Breakfast was delicious. There's some wear and tear, but Michael made the whole experience charming. We only stayed one night, and we'd happily return.

The rooms were quiet and clean, the bed was comfortable, and sitting in the shade with a breeze while reading was lovely. You feel close to town but still in a rural setting. There were some noisy roosters next door, though! The inn is under new ownership and being renovated, and it still needs quite a bit of work. The peeling paint is more than made up for by the owners and management. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel like I was visiting old friends. They're so friendly and go out of their way to make the stay great. I even stayed a second night, though I live less than an hour and a half away. Highly recommend, and I'll be back. Linda

I loved the room with the double claw-foot bathtub. Michael, the caretaker and chef, is part of what makes staying here an experience, and he runs the place with such care for this old Victorian lady. Look at the most recent reviews, since they reflect the recent change in ownership.
