Budget Inn Jasper

The bathroom tub was filthy, we had roaches, and the AC barely worked. People below us smoked pot all night, while others hung around outside making noise. The curtains are paper thin, and there’s no closet, nowhere to sit except the bed, and no ice machine. It was super cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. If you can afford somewhere else, I’d look. I wouldn’t recommend it for families or women traveling alone.

There were bed bugs, and the room smelled like cigarettes. I also saw signs of drug use. The sheets and pillows had cigarette burns, and the towels were stiff and didn’t seem clean. In the bathroom, there was a serious mold problem, and the shower curtain was held together with tape and zip ties. The guy at the front desk didn’t try to find us another room, he just refunded us. Please don’t stay here.

The staff let us use an air-conditioned room while my husband worked on his car, and the other guests were really nice. We only found one issue inside, a long-dead roach on the floor. Outside wasn’t great, though it was fairly clean. Some areas smelled strongly of marijuana, even though smoking isn’t allowed. That’s the only other thing I noticed, so if you can live with a few quirks, it’s a good hotel.

The cleaning staff were wonderful. During my nine-day stay, the woman and man came by almost every day, and they were kind, attentive, and thorough. The front desk man was just as thoughtful. He seemed to care about guests’ well-being, not only the money. My room had a big bed, a flat-screen TV with on-demand, and a fridge nearly as tall as me, and I’m 4'11. I loved the atmosphere and the service. I’d happily come back when I’m in AL. I wish more hotels near where I live were like this. Thanks to budget inn & team!
