Econo Lodge Jasper

My family lives nearby, so I’ve stayed here several times. The rooms have never been great, but for the price they’ve been okay. Lately, though, the TVs haven’t worked, the bathrooms have been below par, and the floors are coming apart. The AC also hasn’t seemed to work the last couple of visits. This past weekend there were roaches all over the room. We won’t stay here again.

We paid $107 a night, and I wouldn’t stay here again for that price. The room was clean enough, but the AC vent was missing, the floor was coming apart, and the bed felt small even for a queen. My dog was nervous all night because there was so much noise: police showed up around 10 p.m., people stomped around outside, and I woke up several times. We were in one of the last rooms at the end, but it still felt too active for me. Around midnight, the room phone rang and woke my boyfriend. I answered, and a woman quickly said she wanted to place an order. I asked if she had a hotel room number, and she laughed and said, “oh ok. Bet!” I don’t understand how that call got through, or why the room phone was being used for a food delivery. It made me get up in the middle of the night for no reason. The room also felt cramped for two people, let alone with a pet. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want a decent night’s sleep or a little extra space.

We were in town for a funeral and paid for a place to rest, but people spent the night in the parking lot hollering and playing loud music from 2 to 4 a.m. They stood on their phones right outside our door, so we couldn’t get the sleep we needed. The place was dirty, the floor was raised from water damage, and the lamps had no shades. It was awful. I won’t stay here again.

Chris was excellent with accommodations, and housekeeping were friendlier than the woman at the front desk. She was very rude. I’ve stayed here before and sent family and friends here, but after this, never again. Next time I’m in Jasper, I’m going to the Best Western across the street.
