We won’t return or recommend it. The TV picture was so bad we couldn’t watch, and water damage kept the bathroom door from closing. The pool wasn’t swimmable. There was no clock, which wasn’t a big deal, but the mini fridge was rusty on top and the pillows had become nothing but lumps inside fabric bags from being washed so often. There were no directions to the room, and after 10 p.m. the lobby was closed, so we had to handle our business at the teller window.

I’ve been coughing and my lungs burn after staying in this room, which smelled strongly of mold and damp dirt. It was such a shock that I might call the inspector. The moldy smell was so pervasive I expected the floor to be solid dirt. I’d never stay here again and can’t recommend it. There were also lots of stray cats on the property. Does anyone know a good TNR program?

We left and slept in the truck at the boat ramp we were heading out from. The room looked nothing like the photos, and when I asked for a refund, they refused, despite the condition and the unsavory people hanging around outside. I took a few photos before leaving. We may need to get vaccinated for herpaghachiphilaids. I booked room #150 for a hunting trip on Dam B with my daughter on 1/2/25. In my 46 years, I’ve stayed in some shady motels, but this ranks in my top three for nasty, dirty, dangerous, and trashy. Mold and mildew hit us as soon as we entered. People loitered outside all night, and the poor dog above us barked all night too. The green carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in ages and was coming apart at the seams. The pool was a shade between antifreeze and nuclear waste. On the walk to our room, we saw two guys who seemed to be smoking meth in a beat-to-hell white SUV. The beds, bathroom, and shower were absolutely disgusting. There was also an old car parked outside our door that looked like it hadn’t moved in years. Avoid this place at all costs.

They tried to charge $25 a night for my service dog. The staff were rude and unprofessional, and seem to know nothing about Texas law and service dogs. I’m glad we didn’t stay. I probably would have had to treat my dog for fleas.
