Polite staff and a decent breakfast. After I lay down, though, I got itchy and felt like things were crawling over me. I'm not sure it was bed bugs, and I didn't get a rash or bites. My guess is detergent: I use Original Tide at home, and one of the scented versions, perhaps a floral one, makes me itchy. The carpets may have been cleaned recently, as you said, but they seemed oversaturated and hadn't dried properly. They felt crunchy underfoot. The bathroom tiles were definitely loose; I stepped on them and felt them wiggle. There was a lot of highway noise. The carpets had a crunchy feel and sound, and seemed like they hadn't been cleaned in years. No USB ports and no TV sleep timer. The bathroom floor tiles need grout. For $100+ a night, I'd just get an air bnb or stay at The Doubletree, which is in a much better location. I appreciate your approval to stay wherever I want.

The staff were great, and the service deserves five stars, especially the person at the front desk in the morning. The room was good for the price. None of this was the staff's fault, but the hotel's "No Locals" policy isn't okay, and I hope they'll reconsider it. I understand locals can sometimes cause damage and extra costs. Still, please consider people who need to get away from a situation at home. Thankfully I wasn't in an emergency, but I'm concerned for myself and others who have been here before and might be. I'd be happy to pay some extra deposit for the risk. Vulnerable people may not be able to travel far enough from home to avoid being considered local. Thank you.

The conference room for my work meeting was okay, though it was either freezing or burning up. The first room I was given was a muggy 80°. Its table lamp kept flashing and flickering off. I told the front desk it was hot and the light didn't work, but they just said to adjust the thermostat. It showed 65°, even though the room was 80°. They moved me to a third-floor room. The elevator wasn't working, so I climbed three flights. It was cooler, but the thermostat still seemed off: it showed 68°, while the room felt more like 72 or 73. I wasn't pleased with the room. The microwave was filthy, the room was dusty, and the chair and couch had several stains and needed a good vacuuming and spot cleaning. The bedspreads need washing, too. You could see stains around the edges.

The breakfast was decent, but the place felt dark and depressing. It's old and hasn't been updated. The bathroom floor felt like it might fall through. It didn't smell great either, and they will rob you of your rewards points.
