One Grove

It feels like living beside a construction site. The site next door is the worst of it, with low, rumbling piling sounds as well as loud construction and renovation noise that carries on for long hours. I often wake up early to the piling, and the roads outside are frequently blocked by construction. On top of that, I can hear dogs barking and footsteps from upstairs. The constant noise makes living here very unpleasant.

The front desk staff are really nice and welcoming. The noise is the big problem: the building is between construction sites to the north and south, and it can start as early as 6 a.m. There's also another active site just south of the nearby light rail station, so you're basically surrounded by three construction zones. I'd visit on a weekday before deciding, since work usually stops on weekends and you won't get a real idea of the noise then.

After more than a year at One Grove, it really feels like home. It's a friendly, harmonious place to live, and with fewer residents, the management team seems to know and care about everyone. The building puts on lots of fun events, and my daughter loves them. We've made so many good memories here. A special thank you to the team: Zakaria at the front desk, Daniella, our Resident Services Coordinator, and the maintenance crew, including Hector and Juan. I'm grateful to them and everyone working behind the scenes for making our home so comfortable and enjoyable.

The one bright spot was the front desk staff, who were helpful, so I gave this place two stars instead of one. The rest of my year here was the worst building experience I've had in about five years living in JC. The ceilings aren't very high, so you hear everything your neighbors do, and management didn't do much to enforce quiet hours. I had loud neighbors from day one and couldn't wait to move out. The fire alarms also went off all the time. I only learned after signing the lease that the parking system has a height limit for cars, so I couldn't park mine there at all. Now, 3.5 months after moving out, I still haven't received my security deposit. I got an email saying the check would be mailed on 11/28/25, and I've followed up so many times, but after you move out, you're no longer a priority.
