The room was comfortable and well stocked, with thoughtful touches that showed how much care John and Eric put into making it welcoming. They also knew the area well and gave us personalized suggestions for activities and restaurants that suited our interests, including some gems we wouldn’t have found on our own. We were greeted warmly when we arrived, and their attentiveness and friendliness made the whole visit feel special. The breakfasts were a highlight: each morning brought a creative, delicious multi-course meal, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. It felt closer to dining at a fine restaurant than a typical B&B breakfast. The Dolon House has a lot to offer, and we can’t wait to return.

John and Eric made our stay at the Dolan House Bed and Breakfast in Jim Thorpe special with their welcoming manner and attention to detail. The location is ideal for exploring town, while still feeling calm and peaceful. Every meal was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. We had a wonderful visit, highly recommend it, and would gladly come back.

We spent Valentine’s Day weekend in the Blue Room, which was beautifully decorated and very clean, with a comfortable bed. John and Eric were attentive and made sure we had what we needed throughout the stay. The service was outstanding, and breakfast was an absolutely delicious treat. We’ll certainly return in the fall. Thank you!

We’ve stayed at The Dolon House many times over the past decade, and the place still means a lot to us. The inn is beautiful and well kept, and the innkeepers were polite and attentive, making sure we had what we needed. We arrived with open minds about the new ownership, knowing some things would change, and we hope the inn keeps evolving while holding on to what made it special. The old owners had made it feel like a character-filled home, full of warmth and treasures from around the world. Each visit felt like being in an antique museum, and their three-course breakfasts were incredible. This time, the house didn’t feel quite as cozy and homey as we remembered. The three-course breakfasts were still carefully prepared, but didn’t have the same spark. We’d love to see the new team develop a few signature dishes that stand out. We were surprised that the new owners don’t live on site. To us, having owners in the home adds a personal warmth and pride that helps guests feel part of something. A few more personal touches could also make the stay feel more complete, such as suggestions for local activities, lunch spots, and things to do around town. We’ll always cherish our memories here and hope to see The Dolon House continue to grow while preserving its spirit.

We loved watching the busy corner from the two turret/bay windows in Doc’s Suite on the second floor. The room was beautiful, clean, and well furnished, like the rest of the house. Each morning’s food was delicious, clearly made with fresh ingredients and care, and Eric served breakfast with warmth and attention. John and Eric welcomed us right away and made our wedding stay feel special with thoughtful amenities, local history, activity suggestions, and friendly conversation. They also let us use the beautiful home for our wedding photos, which gave them a romantic, elegant, vintage feel. We felt safe with their security pet-away-from-pet, Lilly ;) My husband and I stayed at The Dolon House from Friday to Monday for our elopement in Jim Thorpe, and the trip was perfect in every way. The location is central to shops, museums, and other activities. The street is busy during the day on weekends, then quiet at night. We can’t wait to return!
