The 1857

The room was wonderful, and the bed was really comfortable. The noise level was the one thing I didn’t like. Also, after a certain point at night, don’t expect to find anyone at the front desk. They disappear completely.

That bed felt more like home than any hotel bed should. My husband and I had just gotten married that day, and the 1857 made our wedding night feel so special. The room was brand new, with high-end amenities, a walk-in shower and the fanciest shower head I’ve ever seen, plus a huge bathtub right beside it. I loved that the toilet had its own little room. We’d spent the previous night in a $600-plus hotel in Nashville, and the 1857, at a third of the price, was so much better. This is the best hotel experience I’ve ever had, and it barely felt like a hotel. We’ll be back!

The new memory foam mattress was super comfortable, and the location made it easy to enjoy downtown Paducah. The Freight House is across the parking lot, while the convention center and play house are across the street. Plenty of restaurants and bars are an easy walk away.

I travel for work a lot, so I took a chance on the 1857 instead of another cookie-cutter chain hotel. Glad I did. The staff, rooms, location and daily housekeeping were all great. If I’m in Paducah again, I’ll stay here.
