Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cambridge

There seemed to be just one person running the whole Microtel, from the front desk to housekeeping. It felt severely understaffed as soon as we checked in, and the rest of the stay was among the worst I’ve had in years. The room was dirty, with visible stains on the carpet, furniture, and bedding. For a double room, we got only two towels and one washcloth, plus one tiny bar of soap. There was no shampoo, conditioner, or other toiletries. The tub was so slippery it felt unsafe, and there was no bath mat or grip strip. The breakfast area raised concerns too. The waffle batter looked and smelled spoiled, which left us questioning the kitchen’s cleanliness and safety. I’d avoid this location until it makes serious improvements to cleanliness, staffing, and the guest experience.

The staff, including housekeeping, were courteous. My one-night stay was fine, though the room was kind of small, as you might expect from the name. The one real letdown was the shower head. It barely gave any water pressure.

The breakfast was pretty tasty, and for the price this place is hard to beat. We’ve stayed three times now, and the rooms have always been clean and comfortable. It’s right off the highway, too. After a long drive, we had a mix-up, but Kevin, I think that was his name, sorted it out and was so nice. He also suggested some excellent places for dinner. When we stopped again on the way back, he remembered us and was just as friendly and kind. We’ll stay here every time we pass through. Highly recommend it.

We got in around 1:30 a.m. on our drive from Indianapolis to New York City, and check-in was no problem. The place is right off the interstate and close to other conveniences like Starbucks and gas. I’d book here again if I travel this way.
